Safety During Babys Bath
Youve done it. Youre kids finally not scared of the tub, gets the time of his life during bath, splashing water on himself and on you and sees bath time as a great opportunity to play, wonder and explore.
However, your job as parent regarding bath time does not end in making it a fun time for your kid. More importantly, it is also your responsibility to ensure his safety during baths.
Safety Tip 1: Be prepared. Everything should be ready. His towel, soap, shampoo, bath toys, tub, wash cloth, bath seat and all his bathing necessities should be prepared and should be within hands reach even before you settle your kid in his tub. If in case you forget something, dont leave baby in the tub alone. Instead bundle him up in a towel and take him with you.
Safety Tip 2: Choose a safe place for bathing. The sink and the bathroom are ideal places for baby to take his tubby time. Be sure you place his tub on top of something sturdy so it wont topple over. Its also a good idea to place a rubber mat underneath the tub to prevent it from slipping. Aside from that, the place you choose to bathe baby must not have any dangerous items within babys reach such as razors, powder or breakable glass items.
Safety Tip 3: Test waters first before dipping your baby. Hot water may scald your baby while cold water may terrify him. Before letting your baby take the bath, test the water with your elbow to make sure its just the right temperature. To be doubly sure, test it with a bath thermometer to see if its 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Safety Tip 4: Never leave your baby unattended even for a second. It can only take as fast as a blink of an eye for baby to slip or fall off or for any unfortunate accident to happen. When the phone or doorbell rings, or the pot youre cooking starts to smell like its burning, never dare to leave your child on the tub and risk his safety just to answer the phone or the door or to rescue your pot roast. Needless to say, your childs life is more important.
Safety Tip 5: Be focused. Dont let the television airing your favourite soap or a chattering neighbour distract you while you give your kid a bath. Always keep in mind that its in your hands to keep your baby safe at all times. Being distracted may cause you to accidentally put shampoo on his eyes or worse not be able to hold him properly. Babies are slippery when wet and it entails a lot of effort and focused attention to ensure that your baby does not slip out of your hands and is not harmed during a bath.
One of your main responsibilities as a parent is to provide a safe environment for your kid and to ensure that he is free from anything that may hurt and harm him. Keeping him safe at all times including during bath time is one of the things you should always keep in mind.

Buying Tips For Bath Toys
Weve seen how Ernie loves his rubber duckie. And just like him, you want your kid to have a bath toy that he will enjoy taking his bath with. You go to the toy store in search of the perfect bath toy for your kid but found yourself in the middle of too many choices which leaves you puzzled and wondering which ones to get for your kid.
Bath Toys just like any normal toy requires careful thought and consideration from the parents before purchase. Follow these tips and you wont have a hard time making your selection.
Tip No. 1: Durability. Look for bath toys that that are made of durable materials that will not easily wear out even though frequently thrown around or squeezed so hard.
Tip No. 2: Safety. Opt for bath toys that are made of cloth, rubber, or soft materials that will not hurt your kid in case he accidentally hits himself with it. Check to make sure that a toy does not have sharp or pointy edges, small parts that can easily fit your kids mouth or parts that can come off loose like little sewn buttons. Also make sure that it does not have any part that can rust since bath toys are always submerged in the water.
Tip No. 3: Educational Value. Choose toys that are not only fun to play with but also stimulate your kids mind. Give him a bath puppet to encourage imaginative pretend plays and positive interaction or give him a multi-colored wash glove to improve his visual perception and color discrimination. Always remember that every single minute of your childs day holds a possibility for learning and mind enriching activities, this includes bath time.
Tip No. 4: Holds your kids interest. Of course, a bath toy that will hold your kids attention only for a few seconds is obviously not a good buy. Select toys that are fun for your kid to play with and that have features or activities that will captivate your kids attention for the whole duration of the bath and even for the days to come. It is also smart to alternate different sets of bath toys everyday so that your kid is not easily bored with them.
Tip No. 5: Budget. Dont go for toys that will hurt your pockets or those extremely cheap ones that seem too good to be true but are in reality just poorly constructed. Go for toys that come in reasonable and affordable prices but are guaranteed to be made of the highest standards of safety and quality to ensure that you only get the best for your child.
Even though the wide selection of bath toys may make it hard for you to make your choice, with these simple tips, the right kinds of bath toys are not hard to find.
If youre kid is terrified of tubby time, its not a cause for worry. Babies normally undergo a stage where they are scared of water and although it usually passes on its own, there are certain ways you can do to help alleviate your babys fear of bath.

Bath Toys And Caring Tips
Both you and your kid adore bath toys. Your kid loves it because theyre fun to play with and they make him forget that taking a bath is sometimes scary. You love it because it keeps your baby occupied while you get done with your thorough baby bathing duty.
Because bath toys have inevitably become an important part of your babys bath routine, it is just reasonable that you take good care of his bath toys.
First tip: Clean the bath toys regularly. Even though bath toys gets to have a bath too when your kid does, it doesnt mean they shouldnt get their own time slot for cleaning. Oftentimes, when your kid takes a bath and plays with his bath toy, there are soap residues left in the bath toy that you may not be able to rinse out because of course, its your baby whos needless to say is the star of the show and whom youre focused on.
So after your babys done with his bath, dont forget to wash the bath toys with water thoroughly to rinse out any soap residue. Clean water-retaining toys at least once a week with a mixture of one part chlorine bleach to fifteen parts of water. Be sure to rinse thoroughly to avoid bacteria build-up that can cause infections.
Second tip: Air dry the bath toys or dry them under the sun. Especially those that are made of cloth should never be left lying around all wet and cold. Not only would they acquire an unpleasant smell, the dampness may cause for it to accumulate mildew and bacteria which you certainly dont want to reside in any of your kids toys.
Third tip: Disapprove any untoward behavior towards the toy. Frown on activities that involve chewing, banging or throwing around the toy. Even though your baby may be too young to understand the value of his possessions like his toys, its not too early to begin to discipline him.
When he starts to bang his toy or try to bite the head off his Octopus Bath Puppet, what you can do is to gently take the toy away and then firmly say, No, dont harm your toy. If he cries, dont just give the toy right away and let him do it again. Repeat taking away the toy and saying the same thing until he gets that you mean what you say. If you see that he treats the toy differently, be generous with praises and hugs and kisses to reinforce the proper behaviour.
Fourth tip: Alternate different bath toys so that they would not be easily worn out. If you give your kid the same bath toy over and over, not only would he be bored with it eventually but it will also fray the toy more easily.
Fifth tip: Store the bath toys properly. Dont leave them lying around where your dog can bite on them or your babys older siblings can go get them. Store them in a mesh bag or a dry container.
Taking care of your babys bath toys is important to ensure that they stay in top shape and enjoy more baths with your little one.
